Plus, it now supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, two essential features which were missing from the Fortuner. With larger icons and different themes and colors, this one is a lot easier to use. The screen size is still 8 inches, but the interface is better. The infotainment system too has seen an upgrade. The Fortuner also now gets connected car technology which includes geofencing, vehicle tracking and walk-to-car. Exclusive to the Legender are ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger and rear USB ports. Thankfully, there's more to the package than just aesthetics.

The instrument cluster has also seen a mild upgrade and looks better. And while the overall layout has remained the same, the black and maroon upholstery suits the Rs 45.5 lakh (on road price) status better. The interiors too have seen a mild upgrade from the older Fortuner.

Both feature new alloy wheel designs: 18-inch units for the base model and dual-tone 20-inch wheels for the Legender. Both get a revised front fascia, new LED headlights, a redesigned bumper, and a revised layout for the rear LED tail lamps. The facelifted Fortuner gets 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options, coupled with rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrains. The turbo-diesel engine has been retuned to now generate 204PS and 500Nm. The former is a 2.7-litre unit (166PS/245Nm) offered in the same state of tune as before.
